The School has in place a number of policies that govern its operation on a day-to-day basis. These policies are in line with both State and Federal legislative requirements.
Belgrave Heights Christian School is committed to compliance with State and Federal Law, and adherence to the policies and expectations of legally appointed authorities that oversee the operation of educational institutions.
As per the Victorian minimum standards and requirements for registration, we recognise that programs of, and teaching in, a school must support and promote the principles and practice of Australian democracy, including a commitment to:
Furthermore, the School fully supports the government’s recognition of freedom for faith-based schools to actively teach and model the beliefs and practises of Christian faith, as well as to employ staff who actively live out their faith and contribute to a Christ-centred environment.
To ensure the well-being of all students at BHCS is catered for in relation to bullying and harassment.

As part of our strong and ongoing commitment to teaching and learning excellence, BHCS has adopted a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. The program incorporates students bringing personally owned and school-approved devices to school for the purpose of learning. The school provides the ability to connect compatible devices to a filtered internet service.
Different BYOD models were taken into consideration with BHCS choosing a model known as a ‘BYO Minimum Standard’. Under this model, students are permitted to bring devices that meet the requirements outlined (e.g. battery life) in the BYOD guidelines.

It is important that students learn to be punctual with handing in their work. This sets them up with the right habits for not just the workforce, but also for life. Submitting work late without a legitimate reason carries with it consequences. These consequences have a direct impact on the student’s final results for assignments if they are not handed in by the due date.

The final years of secondary schooling can be quite daunting. At BHCS we aim to provide options for our students. Our desire is to educate the whole person. In acknowledging that each person is fearfully and wonderfully made, we want to provide education options as diverse as our students are.

BHCS understands the importance social media can play in the lives of the school community when it comes to communication, collaboration, learning and sharing.
This includes using tools such as Facebook, Twitter and a host of other online tools and applications used for the purposes of connecting and sharing information.
Our social media pages provide people with an opportunity to make enquiries or share their knowledge and experiences. Those who voluntarily become part of our social media networks should note that comments posted are public. We require that any interaction with our School’s social media networks demonstrate our ethos: Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly with our God. We want everyone to be part of our community in a positive way while showing each other respect.
