- A place where play and imagination are important.
- A rhythm and routine to each day, week and year, to allow children to feel happy and safe.
- A program that follows the seasons and celebrations of the year from a Christian perspective: summer, autumn, winter and spring, Easter, Christmas and birthdays.
- Both free play and structured times together as a group, with songs, movement, stories, games, art and craft.

We offer - A special emphasis on God’s creation. The changing seasons are observed. Toys and equipment wherever possible are made from natural materials, or things found in the home. Environmentally friendly practices are used.
- Carefully selected and minimal toys and activities are offered at any one time, giving children time to fully explore each activity and material.
- Told stories to help develop children’s language, listening, and concentration skills.
- A ’Mini Maestros’ class for you and your children to participate in together. Taught by a specialist music teacher, our music class will introduce your child to musical concepts through singing, dancing and percussion.
· A gentle transition to school, with children becoming familiar with the people and layout of school in the years before they commence their Prep. year. Families Learning Together You are welcome at our program. Come in and have a cup of tea. Join in our activities or let the children watch as you work on your own project. Share in your child’s learning. A family focus helps children feel secure in a network of adults and children they know well. And it’s a great way for families to get to know each other. Parents are required to be on a roster to assist the teacher, as at kindergarten. Younger children are welcome when you are on duty. Excursions and our Mini Maestros class will be for families. Your child will love having you there. Fees for 2009 Fees for 2009 are $1120 a year. This includes two weekly sessions for your child, and a weekly ‘Mini Maestros’ class for you and your child and his or her younger siblings. If you would like your child to attend, but fees are a concern, please phone the school on 9754 6435 to speak to Liz. The Roster Playgroup System Belgrave Heights Christian School Early Childhood Program is an initiative of parents who want a special, loving place for their children to grow and develop, physically, mentally, socially and spiritually in their precious early years. A committee of parents formed, and with the support of the school, found a way to create this place for children. The roster playgroup system allows us to achieve this aim. A qualified teacher will plan and guide two sessions each week for 3 - 5 year olds. Program fees cover the cost of employing this teacher. Parents are rostered on to assist the teacher, as at kindergartens, and to maintain an adult/child ratio of one adult to every four children. Children can be left in the care of the teacher and rostered parents for a maximum of four hours a week. A fifth hour is provided in our program by including a ‘Mini Maestros’ music class designed for you and your child, and his or her younger siblings, to participate in together.
